Newspaper circulation falls again

Two out of 118 Australian newspapers experienced a rise in circulation in the final quarter of last year, while the remainder fell, according to the Audit Bureau of Circulations.

They were the Saturday edition of the West Australian (Seven West Media Ltd http://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/) and the Warwick Daily News (APN News & Media http://www.warwickdailynews.com.au/).

Circulation of some popular magazines also declined.

  1. Interesting to see just how much circulation has dropped. Was intrigued to see that the sales figure for weekday hard copy The Australian wasn’t mentioned, just the Weekend Australian. Wonder how much it has dropped? Nearly 40,000 have paid for the dubious pleasure of reading it online? Their paywalls don’t bother me as the first paragraph of anything from New Ltd is more than enough.
