Who investigates Australia’s ABC?

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) operates under a charter of independence. Essentially, it investigates itself in the first instance.

A common complaint of the complaints procedure is: ‘you can complain, but you cannot get anywhere’. Some people see this an another example of the failure of self-regulation.

If your complaint is not dealt with to your satisfaction, you can refer the matter to the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA). Information and link to ACMA appears elsewhere on this site.

All you need to know about making a complaint to the ABC can be found here: http://bit.ly/Swcj1z Follow the menus on the right-hand side. PS: You can also lodge a compliment on that link.

The head of the ABC’s Audience and Consumer Affairs is Kirstin McLiesh.
